What does Empowering Women in Industry mean to you? I believe that women are already empowered. An empowered woman is someone who has the right to choose and ability to make her own decisions; is financially independent, speaks her mind, and whose opinions are well-received by her peers.
How did you get started in your field? I hold a master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering Technology from Rochester Institute of Technology, NY. I studied engineering because of my inclination towards math and science, and also because I like to apply technical skills to solve real-world problems. I'm currently employed with one of the best optical networking company in the world and hope to leverage the knowledge attained from my degree program to support future technology.
What do you love most about your job? What are you most proud of? I'm an Optical Test Development Engineer (Subsea Solutions) at Infinera Corporation. A major part of my job involves testing software that simulates the submarine optical networks. I also enjoy spending time in the lab where I assist in setting up optical links in the lab.

Anything else you would like to add? I'm a movie buff and watch plenty of movies in my free time.
