We are excited to have Brooke West join us this week as our guest speaker.

About Brooke West:

Brooke West is an accomplished communicator with more than 10 years’ experience in news, communications and public relations. She’s an activator by nature anmersd an innovative thinker with an aptitude for developing strategic plans that drive results. She’s also a firm believer in “that’s the way we’ve always done it,” are usually the worst words to live by. She got her start in the industry at Texas A&M University’s Turbomachinery Laboratory.

Brooke is a fierce advocate for accessible mental health services. She believes that cultivating self-awareness and emotional intelligence is critical for well-being and is a chief asset at work.

Brooke recently launched To Die For Bakery, a fully licensed cottage bakeshop out of her home in Round Rock, TX. When she’s not working or baking and decorating layer cakes, you can find Brooke renovating her 1975 home or exploring national parks.

What she will be talking about on the Virtual Meet Up:

Brooke’s mental health advocacy journey began in 2014 with a volunteer experience at the Sexual Assault Resource Center in Bryan, TX, the neighboring town of Texas A&M University. She served as a crisis services advocate, answering the 24-hour crisis hotline and accompanying survivors to hospitals for evidence exams, and later as a member of the board of directors. Through this experience, Brooke is convinced she learned everything she needed to guide the rest of her life. She’s looking forward to sharing these lessons during the Empowering Women in Industry video chat!
