Q: What does Empowering Women mean to you?
Tori: Empowering women means helping them recognize they do not need to become someone else to be successful. So many women have been taught to perform, prove, overextend, or shrink themselves to fit into spaces that were never designed with them in mind. Empowerment is helping women trust themselves again — their voice, ideas, intuition, leadership, and contribution. It’s about creating environments where women stop waiting for permission and start owning the value they already bring into the room.
Q: How did you get started working in your field?
Tori: My career started in higher education and recruiting, and over the last 20+ years I’ve worked across corporate, government, and leadership development spaces. I’ve conducted over 12,000 interviews, hired thousands of professionals, and led talent and coaching initiatives at organizations like Bank of America and within city government systems. Over time, I realized my work was never just about careers or hiring — it was about helping people better understand themselves so they could lead, contribute, and innovate more effectively. That realization eventually led me to build my own business focused on human innovation, leadership, and talent development.
Q: What do you love most about your job? / What are you most proud of?
Tori: What I love most is watching people reconnect to themselves. There is a moment when someone stops second-guessing their voice, sees their value clearly, and starts making decisions differently — and that changes everything. I’m proud that my work has impacted individuals and organizations at every level, from coaching executives and emerging leaders to speaking on stages about innovation, leadership, and the future of work. I’m especially proud that I’ve built a business centered around helping humans evolve, not just perform.
Q: What advice would you give to someone considering this line of work?
Tori: Learn people. Learn behavior. Learn communication. Technology will continue to evolve, but human connection, discernment, trust, and leadership will always matter. Also — do not build a career based only on titles or what looks impressive on paper. Build a career around your natural strengths, curiosity, and contribution. The people who thrive long term are the ones who know how to evolve with change instead of resisting it.
Q: Anything else you would like to add?
Tori: We are living in a world moving faster than ever because of AI and technology, but people are still the true differentiator. My work is centered around helping individuals and organizations remember that innovation starts within humans first. When people think clearly, communicate with alignment, and take ownership of their contribution, the ripple effect impacts teams, businesses, and communities in powerful ways.
