Meet Becky Danielson, A Height Safety Training Director

Q: What does Empowering Women mean to you?

Becky: Empowering women in my role means more than just teaching skills—it’s about how we show up for each other. In a male-dominated field, it’s already challenging enough. We don’t need to compete or be critical of one another—we need to support, encourage, and lift each other up. When women are confident, prepared, and backed by other women, it changes the entire dynamic of the industry.

Q: How did you get started working in your field?

Becky: My path into this field wasn’t something I planned—it evolved. I spent a decade as a volunteer firefighter while working in a hospital, which gave me a strong foundation in emergency response and safety. After retiring and relocating to a larger town, I was introduced to a role with a fall protection manufacturer in their training division. That opportunity turned into a career, and 20 years later, I’m still passionate about the work.

Q: What do you love most about your job? / What are you most proud of?

Becky: There’s that saying—if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life. I feel like that’s where I am now. It didn’t come without challenges, but I’ve found purpose in this work

What I love most about my job is the opportunity to learn from so many different industries and people. That not only helps me become a better educator, but also allows me to provide meaningful, real-world solutions.

I’ve worked very hard to get to where I am today. I’m not a CEO, a president, or anything flashy—I’m an educator. And I’m proud of that, because I know the information I share has the potential to save someone’s life.

One of the things I’m most proud of is serving as Chair of the Fall Protection Council for the Scaffold & Access Industry Association. It’s been such an honor to be part of an organization that’s making a real impact in safety.

Q: What advice would you give to someone considering this line of work?

Becky: Be curious, and be open to learning from others. This field gives you the opportunity to work across so many industries and learn from some incredible people.

But you also have to be comfortable with heights—and with responsibility. Fall protection and safety can be high-pressure at times, but it’s also one of the most rewarding careers out there, because the work you do truly makes a difference.
