What does Empowering Women mean to you?
To me, empowering women means genuinely supporting and uplifting each other. It’s about creating a space where women can embrace their strengths, pursue their dreams, and overcome the challenges they face. It’s not just about providing opportunities but also listening, offering encouragement, and standing beside them as they navigate their paths. Empowerment is personal—it’s about celebrating each woman’s unique journey and helping them feel confident and capable of achieving their goals.
How did you get started working in your field?
**Trigger Warning: This response includes references to trauma, rejection, homelessness, and domestic violence.**
I started working in my field driven by my own experiences with trauma, including rejection, homelessness, and domestic violence. These challenges deeply impacted my life and shaped my understanding of the hurdles many women and youth face. I realized firsthand how crucial it is to have support, resources, and a strong community to navigate and overcome such obstacles.
Empowering women and youth became my mission because I want to offer the guidance and encouragement I wished I had during those tough times. By sharing my journey and providing practical support, I aim to help others find their strength and build a path to a better future. My work is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves a chance to rise above their circumstances and achieve their full potential.
What do you love most about your job? / What are you most proud of?
What I love most about what I do is the chance to ignite change and inspire hope in the lives of single moms and their children with ADHD and autism. As a motivational speaker, trauma-informed practitioner, certified business coach, and certified family peer support specialist, I’m deeply committed to empowering these families. I thrive on helping them unlock their potential, overcome challenges, and build a brighter future.
What I’m most proud of is witnessing the profound transformations in those I work with. Seeing a single mom gain confidence, turn her dreams into reality, and provide a better life for her child is beyond rewarding. It’s incredible to know that my experiences and expertise are not just providing support but also sparking real change and growth. Watching these families rise above their obstacles and flourish is the ultimate testament to the impact of our work together.
