We asked our Empowering Women 2024 Steering Committee what their goals are for the new year ahead of us, and here is what they had to say:

Dianne McMaster:

My goals for 2024 are to continue to grow in my engagement in volunteer activities.  There are so many wonderful organizations that can use your help, take advantage of your expertise, or help grow your skills.  It also gives you a sense of appreciation for the roles these organizations and groups provide in their communities, whether a professional organization like the Society of Women Engineers or Water Environment Federation, or community based such as Pennsylvania Women Work, American Lung Association Fight for Air Stair Climb, or Beverly’s Birthdays. You get a boost from giving back and meet an incredible network of people.

Some of my goals for 2024 are to grow my Instagram to 600+ followers and continue to share about my story and the opportunities for women and young people in the construction industry. I’m trying to take more time away from screens to do things like read for fun; my goal is 6 books this year. Also in the process of renovating my house so I’d like to get the master bathroom done this spring. My final goal is to spend time outside, keeping my body healthy and active, more hikes please!

My goals for 2024 are very simple this year.  To keep everything in perspective...and to always be gentle and kind!  Life is too short!

A goal I have for myself this year is to be more sustainable in how I eat. Over the last few years, I’ve been inching closer to eating healthier and giving my body the nutrients it needs but this year I want to make a more concerted effort to learn how to cook differently than I know how and maintain a lifestyle with less meat and more foods that will truly nourish my body.
