Meet Erin Slutsky, A Menopause Advocate

Q: What does Empowering Women mean to you?

Erin: Empowering women means helping them recognize, reclaim, and rise into their inherent strength, wisdom, and worth. To me, it's about creating space for women to show up fully as themselves, unapologetically, authentically, and boldly. It’s not about giving power to women, but about reminding them they’ve had it all along and supporting them as they access it in new ways.

Empowerment happens when women learn to trust their intuition, speak their truth, and set boundaries that honor their needs. It’s in the moment a woman says “no” to something that drains her and “yes” to something that fuels her. It’s found in quiet resilience, fierce courage, and the daily decisions to advocate for themselves and others.

Empowering women also means challenging systems and beliefs—internal and external, that have told them they’re too much or not enough. It’s about helping women rewrite those stories and step into leadership, creativity, and confidence without waiting for permission. It's about building a culture where collaboration replaces competition and women celebrate each other’s wins as their own.

For me, it’s not just a philosophy, it’s a practice. It’s how I coach, how I parent, how I show up in friendships, and how I contribute to community. I believe empowered women change the world not by becoming someone else, but by becoming more of who they truly are.

Q: How did you get started working in your field?

Erin: I’ve always found myself in positions of leadership; whether it was during my time in nursing school, leading women’s ministry, or walking alongside women in their most vulnerable seasons. For over 25 years, I’ve been the person others turned to for guidance, encouragement, and perspective. Supporting women came naturally to me, it wasn’t just something I did; it was who I was.

But the turning point came the day my oldest daughter drove away on her own for the first time. Watching her pull out of the driveway, I felt this deep wave of emotion—pride, nostalgia, and an unexpected sense of loss. In that quiet moment, I realized how much of myself I had poured into everyone else, and how disconnected I had become from my own dreams, identity, and needs. That moment didn’t just mark a milestone in her life, it was a wake-up call in mine.

It sparked a season of reflection and rediscovery. I leaned into the personal growth work I had always loved and realized that the things I had been doing for free—listening deeply, coaching informally, helping women navigate transitions;were not only valuable, but powerful. About five years ago, I made the decision to turn that passion into a business.

Since then, I’ve brought together my decades of leadership, my training as a life coach, and tools like the Enneagram to help women create lives they don’t need to escape from. Empowering women isn’t just a mission for me, it’s a natural extension of who I’ve always been. And now I get to do it with purpose, clarity, and the freedom to design a life I love too.

Q: What do you love most about your job? / What are you most proud of?

Erin: What I love most about my job is watching women come back to themselves. There’s something incredibly powerful about witnessing that moment when a woman realizes she doesn’t have to shrink, hustle for her worth, or wait for permission to want more. I love helping women find their voice, set boundaries without guilt, and take action toward a life that actually reflects who they are, not just who they’ve been expected to be.

Every session, every conversation, is a chance to hold space for transformation, not by fixing anyone, but by helping them remember their own power.

What I’m most proud of is the ripple effect this work creates. When a woman begins to trust herself, speak up, and make decisions that align with her values, it doesn’t just change her life, it impacts her relationships, her family, her work, and her legacy. I’m proud that I’ve built a business rooted in authenticity and impact, that I’ve modeled reinvention in midlife, and that I get to lead by example, especially for my daughters.

Q: What advice would you give to someone considering this line of work?

Erin: Start with heart, but don’t ignore the reality. This work is sacred—it’s powerful, purposeful, and incredibly fulfilling, but it’s also not easy. Coaching isn’t just about having great conversations or offering insight; it’s about holding space, managing energy, and running a business all at once. You have to love people, but also be disciplined with your time, boundaries, and expectations.

Be prepared for the emotional labor of truly caring for your clients while still managing your own wellbeing. Maintaining a consistent client load can be tough, especially in seasons when people are hesitant to invest or when you're doing all the right things and still hearing crickets. It’s easy to start doubting yourself, but remember: your work matters, and results aren’t always instant.

Also, this is a big one, be cautious of predators disguised as helpers. The coaching and online business world is full of marketing “experts” who promise overnight success but prey on your passion and vulnerability. Many are more focused on selling their formula than helping you build a sustainable, authentic business. If someone’s selling pressure, shame, or urgency, walk away. Trust your gut. The best mentorship feels like clarity, not confusion.

Most of all, build a business that reflects your values, not someone else’s template. Stay grounded in service, but don’t lose sight of strategy. Keep growing, stay curious, and surround yourself with people who get it. This work can change lives, including your own, but only if you protect your energy and lead from a place of integrity.

Q: Anything else you would like to add?

Erin: I believe midlife is just the beginning, not the end.

You’re not lost or broken. You’re just buried under years of roles that no longer fit. And once you start choosing yourself, everything changes.

I believe in creating space where you can exhale, speak your truth, and stop performing.

Where clarity leads to confidence, and confidence leads to action.

This work isn’t about fixing you.

It’s about helping you remember who you are, and design a life that finally reflects it.

Because your next chapter?

It gets to be your best one yet.
