What does Empowering Women mean to you?

Empowering women means, helping my sisters along the path to self-assurance; self-reliance, and self-sustained happiness. Empowering myself and other women is about sharing the tools that I have mastered along my journey. True empowerment is about not only motivating or inspiring but to providing the necessary steps to begin a movement.

How did you get started working in your field?

I have served others throughout my professional career, whether working with homeless and runaway youth; as a mental health clinician, or empowerment coach.

I became a women's empowerment coach and speaker to show women how to embrace their inner power, and to understand that empowerment is not something that is given to you, but something that is rooted and nurtured within.

What do you love most about your job? / What are you most proud of?

I get to plant seeds. I learned a very long time ago that life and our relationships in it, are about planting seeds, both in ourselves and the world around us. I won't say proud, because pride implies some sense of ownership over the result, I'd rather use the word excited. I'm excited to be able to share my journey and the lessons I've learned along the walk. If I can plant a tiny seed of power by sharing my story, that's what I'm going to do.

What advice would you give to someone considering this line of work?

Be ready to challenge yourself, be ready to grow, and keep growing. Remember that self-empowerment is the first step to empowering others.
