What does Empowering Women mean to you?

Every single woman has the ability to empower other women. Simply stated, we should always strive to uplift and support other women. When we lift others up, genuinely, we can't help but lift up ourselves. By supporting other women through mentorship, sharing ideas or simply giving a compliment, more women will feel empowered to embrace their fabulous selves. My message to women over 50 is that you can IGNITE YOUR SPARK at any age, and there are so many ways to do that. Learning should never stop, being curious and grateful and looking for your community of women will get you to the point of believing you are worthy.

How did you get started working in your field?

That is a challenging question, because I have many "fields". I love to reinvent myself at every age and stage in life. I have always carried the essence of being a performer throughout most of my "career" choices. I was a traveling editor for GLAMOUR magazine in the 80's where I presented fashion and tips from the magazine to thousands of women. I was the Fashion Director at Saks Fifth Avenue in Palo Alto, choreographing and directing fashion shows. Then I had my own Fashion Show Production company for 20 years. My essence is shining my light to encourage others to do the same. I realized that with a little coaching, some fun clothes, hair and makeup, that women (non professional models) believed in themselves and felt their self esteem rise. That is what led me to becoming a coach for women. However, as I reached the decade in which I find myself now, I realized that so many women are overlooked because of their hair color and number on their birth certificate. My aim now is to Ignite The Spark in women over 50 via coaching and an online self guided class along with in person workshops. I walk the talk as in 2020 I started my podcast, became a yoga instructor and launched a commercial acting career!

What do you love most about your job? / What are you most proud of?

I am extremely proud of learning to host a Podcast and all that comes with it, editing, marketing and the like. If a job is something you get paid for, then that's not it. I get paid for selling men's custom clothes, since I have been in the fashion arena for decades. I love my podcast the very most because I connect with amazing people across the world. My goal is to shine a light on those who are awakening the light in others. This podcast has brought new ideas to so many people and my hope is that those who listen will take chances in life, step outside of their comfort zones to embrace change and transformation to becoming the vibrant and joyful person that they are meant to be.

What advice would you give to someone considering this line of work?

I guess I will talk about Podcasting in this box. I would say just go for it. Actually that is what I would say to anyone about any job or career or following that they desire. The first step is taking action and deciding what you want. If you want to start and host a podcast, know that the road is not one to financial abundance. You must realize that first and foremost, but if you are doing it from a place of purpose and passion and because you just have to - then do it. The people who need your message will indeed find it. It takes a lot of learning, editing, recording etc, but using our brains keeps us young!

Anything else you would like to add?

I love this forum and am thrilled to have found you!
